AMRET In 1991, GRET, a French NGO, set up an experimental project to deliver micro credit to the rural population of Cambodia , the experiment was successful and became known in 1995 as Ennatien Moulethan Tchonnebat (EMT) which became a Private Limited Company in 2000, and received an MFI license in 2001. Cambodian Business Integrated in Rural Development


Cambodian Business Integrated in Rural Development (CBIRD) was established in 2000, and registered with the NBC as a Rural Credit Operator in 2002. CBIRD became a Micro Finance Institution, in 2005. CBIRD has two main activities: Cash credit Operations and Saving Mobilization in 5 provinces/cities: Banteay Meanchey, Battambang, Pailin City , Prey Veng and Siem Reap. CBIRD is focused on poor farmers living in remote areas who are not able to improve their living standard, because of the lack of funding for improving agricultural ventures and small business in their community.

Hattha Kaksekar


Hattha Kaksekar Limited (HKL) started as a food security project by OCSD/OXFAM-Quebec in PURSAT province in 1994 In 1996 it registered as an NGO, and in 2001, HKNGO transformed to private limited liability company owned by four shareholders. Continual successes and potentials made HKL raised its paid-up capital to US$ 257,850 in 2003 with CORDAID as the fifth shareholder. HKL is now an MFI licensed by National Bank of Cambodia. Intean Poalroath Rongroeurng


Intean Poalroath Rongroeurng (IPR) The company Intean Poalroath Rongroeurng Ltd. (meaning Credit, Population, Prosperity in Khmer) was founded by two private Cambodian individuals, Mr. Oknha Phou Puy and Ms. Hao Simorn, in 2003. It was founded as a credit unit of the Federation of Cambodian Rice Millers Associations, to alleviate the capital constraint of rice mill entrepreneurs who lacked access to credit to expand their production.
In January 2005, the Unit registered with the National Bank of Cambodia as a rural credit operator. In July in the same year, the Unit transformed into a private limited liability company and officially registered with the Ministry of Commerce under the name “Intean Poalroath Rongroeurng Ltd”, IPR, with a registration number Co. 7896/05 P. The Company furthermore received a microfinance institution license, MF 014, from the National Bank of Cambodia in August 2005. As the funding situation of rice mills had gradually improved over time, IPR turned its focus to small farmers after its registration and MFI license. On June 24th 2008, IPR’s MFI license was renewed by the NBC as a permanent one. On April 03rd 2009, IPR re-registered following a capital injection from its existing shareholders. A new permanent MFI license that took the capital increase into account was granted by the NBC on June 19th 2009.
In 2010, the Company’s ownership underwent a significant change. Ms. Hao Simorn transferred the entirety of her shares in IPR with full rights to Mr. Oknha Phou Puy in July 2010. On December 30th 2010, Leopard Cambodia Fund, Cambodia’s first private equity fund operated by the international financial group Leopard Capital L.P., took a minority stake in IPR though the Hong Kong based company IPR (HK) Limited.

KREDIT

KreditKREDIT is one of the leading microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. KREDIT was established by World Relief US in 1993 to provide financial services and primary health to Cambodia's poor women in the urban and rural. Since its transition to professional MFI in 2004, KREDIT has shown its solid growth with quality, good profit, and also strong contribution to clients and community development. In late 2010, KREDIT got Micro Deposit Taking Institution (MDI) license from National Bank of Cambodia (NBC). The institution has a triple-bottom lines embracing sustainability, enabling its clients to achieve socio-economic development, and following guidance of GOD.
As of Dec 2012, KREDIT has provided USD53.49 million loans to 59,840 clients through about 60 serving offices and 848 staff members. Regarding saving performance, as of the same date, KREDIT has collected USD8.95 mil from 3,358 accounts. 2012 was also a remarkable year of KREDIT that we got a new shareholder "Phillip MFIs Pte Ltd", an arm of PhilipCapital (www.phillip.com.sg) based in Singapore which is a leading Integrated Asian Financial Institution with network offices around the world, offering a comprehensive suite of innovative financial products and services to retail, institutional and corporate clients. Within the year 2012, KREDIT has also set up partnership with PATH and IDE to provide loan to poor family so that they can have a simple set of latrine for their family use. With support from Kiva, Vittana, and Eriks, Education Loan is also a new product that which was successfully developed and planned to be launched in beginning of 2013. With this new product, KREDIT will have broader scope to provide impact on the lives of more poor people. Rating agency, Microfinanza, in 2012 conducted rating to KREDIT and showed that KREDIT has moved up another step: financial side got BBB- and social BB+. Result of impact assessment and client's satisfaction in 2012 also show that majorities of clients improved their standard of living, business, asset, and saving. Majority of clients also mentioned their high levels of satisfaction with our services and products.
In addition to above performance and to maximize the impact on poor clients, KREDIT has continued expansion of Vulnerable Service Unit (VSU) by working through integration mode with some development partners to provide poor clients other complementary services: finance-related training (debt management, savings, and budgeting), special agriculture training1, child education, primary health care and HIV/AIDS trainings, and character building to their clients. Some training provided directly by KREDIT's staff and some by the partners based on topics.

PRASAC Microfinance


PRASAC MFI, Ltd. (PRASAC) is a private Cambodian limited liability company registered with Ministry of Commerce. It is licensed by the National Bank of Cambodia to operate as a Microfinance Institution. Operations started on 1 January 2005, when it received ownership from the EC to assets earlier operated by PCA (PRASAC Credit Association). At the same time it also secured its funding by signing a Subordinated Debt Agreement with RGC, giving access to seed funds and retained earnings (the Credit Fund) originating from the EC funded development project  called PRASAC (Programme de Rehabilitation et d'Appui au Secteur Agricole du Cambodge), active from 1995 to 2003. SAMIC Microfinance


SAMIC Microfinance (SAMIC) former CHC-Limited, formerly known as the Credit Program of the Cambodian Health Committee, originated from an NGO established in 2004 in response to public health problems. The program has initially funded by Oxfam America. In early 2005 CHC was licensed as a limited company by Ministry of Commerce and in September became a licensed MF, lending to the poor, low-income households and small enterprises.
