PRASAC MFI, Ltd. (PRASAC) is a private Cambodian limited liability company registered with Ministry of Commerce. It is licensed by the National Bank of Cambodia to operate as a Microfinance Institution. Operations started on 1 January 2005, when it received ownership from the EC to assets earlier operated by PCA (PRASAC Credit Association). At the same time it also secured its funding by signing a Subordinated Debt Agreement with RGC, giving access to seed funds and retained earnings (the Credit Fund) originating from the EC funded development project called PRASAC (Programme de Rehabilitation et d'Appui au Secteur Agricole du Cambodge), active from 1995 to 2003.
