Thaneakea Phum Cambodia (TPC) was launched in December of 1994, and began offering microfinance services as part of Catholic Relief Services (CRS)/ Cambodia 's strategy for rural reconstruction and poverty alleviation. In 2002, TPC successfully spun off from CRS and was registered as a limited liability company, and was licensed by the National Bank of Cambodia (NBC) in 2003 to operate as a regulated microfinance institution (MFI). TPC has a social vision and a business orientation that provides poor rural women with the economic opportunities to transform the quality of their lives and their communities through the provision of effective and sustainable client empowering financial services.
